Bachelor of PharmacyProfessional Experience Placement (PEP) ProgramThe faculty places a strong emphasis on the practical elements of the Bachelor of Pharmacy degree, all students studying pharmacy at Monash participate in the practical experience program. The major objective of the Professional Experience Placement Program is for students to develop specific skills in the areas of clinical pharmacy, problem solving, medication history taking, patient counselling and therapeutic planning, and an appreciation of the role of pharmacists in health care teams. The placements are organised by Monash University. Each placement is three weeks in length with students working eight hours each day, Monday - Friday. The placements are timetabled to occur during semester periods and also in February during the summer break. Students are required to complete four placements over third and fourth year:
Students also have the opportunity to apply to complete one placement overseas via the Pharmacy Abroad program.
