Registered Pharmacists studying Graduate Certficate in Pharmacy Practice

The Monash University Graduate Certificate in Pharmacy Practice allows you to develop further knowledge and skills in a range of pharmacy practice-related areas, providing a great opportunity for ongoing professional development at the same time as earning an additional qualification.

Benefits of the Monash Graduate Certificate in Pharmacy Practice

  • The Graduate Certificate in Pharmacy Practice may provide long-term benefits such as enhanced career opportunities and higher salary.  In public hospitals, for example, you will be entitled to a higher qualification allowance.
  • The Geriatric Pharmacy Practice elective is recognised by AACP as a Stage 1 preparatory training program for accreditation for Commonwealth funded Medication Management Reviews (HMR/RMMR), so as well as being part of your Graduate Certificate, this unit prepares you for qualification as an Accredited Consultant Pharmacist.
  • The Graduate Certificate in Pharmacy Practice need not be an end in itself – depending on your choice of elective units, you could gain credit towards higher degrees such as the Master of Clinical Pharmacy or higher qualifications in Wound Care.
  • As a postgraduate student, you will have access to a wide range of Monash facilities and services such as university libraries, electronic learning materials, e-mail, discussion groups, online journals and databases (eg. Micromedex).
  • Flexibility - units are delivered by off campus learning, and most units require no attendance at the University.

Single unit enrolment

Registered pharmacists may enrol in single units up to a maximum of 12 points as non-award studies with credit available towards future award courses. Applicants may apply for single-unit entry using theSingle unit and Cross-institutional application form.

Please note that the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences can only process Single unit applications for unit codes offered by this faculty (ie.VCP, VCW, VCG, VCD).  Refer to the Monash University Postgraduate Handbook for information regarding other units (ie. ECX)
