Mass Spectrometry Facility
The Mass Spectrometry Facility provides a variety of analytical services to augment and support research projects. Services performed are:
- Low resolution mass spectrometric analysis using ESI+/- or APCI+/- ionization.
- Accurate mass determination using EI or ESI ionisation.
- LC/MS using ESI or APCI ionisation.
The laboratory operates one instrument: a Micromass Platform II ESI/APCI quadrupole mass spectrometer. The services of the laboratory are typically used by the Schools of Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceutics and Pharmacology as well as several other departments within the University, other Universities and the Pharmaceutical Industry.
