PCR Equipment

The department is well-equipped for studies involving the polymerase chain reaction (PCR). PCR is a technique used to rapidly amplify very small amounts of DNA and has revolutionised molecular biology research. We have 2 Corbett Research thermal cyclers for standard PCR experiments and a 3rd Corbett Research thermal cycler for real-time PCR studies. The real-time PCR instrument allows the quantification of DNA in samples.
