The use of cells to study the effect of drugs and toxicants on receptors

We have a collection of cell lines containing 5-HT₂, 5-HT₃, 5-HT₄ receptors inserted in their cell membranes. These will be used to screen compounds made in the Department of Medicinal Chemistry for potential use as treatments for bowel diseases by members of the department’s '5-HT group'. An opportunity exists to join this project.
