Why Medicinal Chemistry? I chose to study Medicinal Chemistry because at school I always loved biology and chemistry and wanted to pursue a degree and ultimately a career that combined both. I considered other health science and science-related courses but ultimately decided on medicinal chemistry because it combined both subjects with a focus on designing drugs to make a difference.

What’s the best ting about your course? I enjoy several things about my course. I like the subjects and the lecturers are really enthusiastic about their work which makes all the difference. I particularly enjoy synthetic chemistry and biomolecules (biochemistry), but I thoroughly enjoy all my subjects!

In the future I want to… I would love to work in the field of drug development, perhaps as a production chemist within a pharmaceutical company. But who knows what the future holds.
