This two day, hands-on workshop explores the science behind everyday products. With the guidance of academic staff from the Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science, program participants will be introduced to university chemistry, through a mix of tutorials and lab sessions.

Participants in 2007 experimented to develop a moisturising cream and presented their findings to an expert panel.

Cost:
 Free of charge to schools and their nominated pupils.

How to apply

Ten teams, each from a different school, will be selected to take part in the competition.Teams are made up of two high achieving year 11 chemistry students from one school.

Applicants must demonstrate:

  • An interest in chemistry
  • Strong academic performance
  • Involvement in their school or community

Students should be planning to complete units 3 and 4 English (any), Chemistry and Mathematical Methods (either) as part of their VCE studies.

Once you have formed a team of two, apply with the assistance of your Chemistry or Careers teacher. The participant application form and the school application form  must be returned to Jessica Dobbie by:
