Alcohol at student functionsLiquor licencesA liquor licence is required for all events on campus where alcohol is served. A copy of the liquor licence must be provided to the Student Activities Officer one week prior to the event. The original Licence must be shown to security at the commencement of your event, and displayed at the event. If you are unable to produce a liquor licence your event may proceed, but without alcohol. Please be aware that the health and safety of people at your event is the Licensee's responsibility. It is important that you investigate and undertake your responsibilities as a licensee, including but not limited to:
A temporary limited licence may be granted to cover a variety of temporary events including one-off events such as balls or presentation evenings. The temporary limited licence has the following limitations;

If your requirements for a liquor licence exceed the above, you may be required to apply for a permanent licence. Applications for limited licences should be lodged at least 35 days before the event commences. In some cases, you may be required to provide further information or a floor plan of the premises, or to display a notice of the application to the public. Guards will be charged to the clubs at an hourly rate. For more information see the Student Events and Security webpage. Cold storage of alcoholCold storage for drinks is the responsibility of the organising committee. Please request ice tubs from the MPSA and BYO ice. The cafeteria fridges are not available for student functions. |
