Cleaning and rubbish

Rubbish

Organisers are responsible for the removal of rubbish after events. Please discuss your responsibilities with the Student Activities Officer and make arrangements for your event at the time of your booking.

Standard layout

Standard layout applies to all spaces on campus. Clubs may arrange booked rooms as required, however they must be returned to the CORRECT standard setting. Failure to do so will result in the club incurring the cost of having the room re-set.

Cleaning

For large or messy functions, the Student Activities Officer will organise cleaning staff on the club's behalf. Cleaning will occur after the event and includes:  

  • Toilets
  • Stairwells
  • Grounds
  • Rooms

Cleaning does not include BBQ's, or the returning of rooms to their original layout.

Cleaning charges are the responsibility of the club. Before cleaning can be booked, the club must provide a postal address for one executive member who will be posted an invoice.

The cleaning of BBQ's is the responsibility of the club using the facility. Cleaning equipment for the BBQ can be obtained from MPSA.  The BBQ's are a shared facility and if everyone does their bit then they will be clean for use when required and remain in good working order. Failure to clean the BBQ will result in the responsible club being charged for their cleaning.

A vacuome cleaner can be borrowed from the student activities officer and located in the security office. It is always a good idea to vacuome the floor before you return any furniture you may have moved.
