Occupational, Health, Safety and Environment (OSHE)

The university strives to provide a safe and healthy environment for its employees, students, and visitors at all of its campuses and premises. There is a general legal responsibility to this effect under common law and there are also specific requirements placed on the university under various acts and regulations of statutory law.

The faculty has an active Occupational Health Safety and Environment Committee. Please contact the committee if you have any questions or have identified any issues you would like addressed by the Committee.

Please note that your department will have specific OHSE policies and guidelines in relation to areas such as laboratory work or other specialist equipment. It is your responsibility to adhere to these requirements. If you have any doubts about these requirements, please contact one of the faculty's OHSE officers.
