Student ambassador program

Student ambassadors are appointed as representatives of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences for a term of 12 months and represent the faculty at a variety of prospective student, current student, alumni and industry events. In return Ambassadors receive a host of opportunities for skill and career development. Ambassadors are also paired up with the faculty's Alumni who can provide insight into the industry and career advice. For more information on the program and an application visit the Student Ambassador program website.

Mentor program

The Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences runs an established Mentor Scheme, the main idea of this scheme is for current students to mentor a group of new students, making their transition to University life easier. The benefits of the mentor program are often intangible but you can be sure that you will be providing a fantastic service to both the University and your fellow students. In addition, mentoring is an excellent way to enhance your leadership and people skills, and you will receive a certificate which you will be able to mention in your CV. For more details or visit the Mentor program website.

Applications for the Mentor program are now open and close on November 21 2008.

Open day guides

Open Day is an important opportunity to provide future students with information on Monash University causes and associated careers paths, university life and available facilities and services. The Open Day volunteer guide program is comprised of a select group of students chosen to represent Monash University and provide an overview of their student experience to visitors. The program is an excellent way to improve your communication skills. Positions are advertised in April each year, contact Jessica Dobbie for more details.

Executive roles on student clubs and societies

Participation in a club or society is a great way to gain leadership skills. In addition to establishing and running a committee, club executives learn about budgeting, sponsorship, event management, publications, marketing and more. Involvement in a club or society might just be the thing that makes you stand out to a future employer. Most clubs have their AGM’s between September or October.
