Sports and recreationTaking part in sport can be a great break from study, a good way to meet people and lots of fun. Monash Sport
Promoting a healthy lifestyle, enabling community development and enhancing excellence in research and education. To find out more, visit Monash Sport New sports club at ParkvilleEverybody is welcome to enjoy and train in Shorinji Kempo. Unlike other forms of self-defence which require physical strength and conditioned bodies, Shorinji Kempo is based on speed, balance, and body movement. In this way, a small person can overcome a larger and stronger opponent. Shorinji Kempo Melbourne is the only club in Victoria and has trained at Monash University since 1986. We are registered with the World Shorinji Kempo Organisation (WSKO) in Japan. Shorinji Kempo places no emphasis on winning or losing. Instead, it concentrates on mutual respect and understanding between training companions so that both parties enjoy the benefits of training and progress on the basis of mutual development. The essence of Shorinji Kempo practice is the development of a healthy mind, healthy body and ability in self defence.
